I casually walked into the kitchen. Distracted by the snow falling outside the window, I failed to notice my mother sobbing in the chair. When I caught sight of her, confusion washed over me. We hadn’t fought at all that day. In fact, we were getting ready to leave for our family Christmas party. I wrapped my arms around her and asked her what the matter was. Her next words echoed in my ears. “Your brother’s in jail.”
Families continually work through hardships together. They are bound in a unity that cannot be broken. Families, especially parents, will never abandon you. The importance of establishing strong relationships with your parents is extremely crucial, especially during one’s teen years. It is important to build these relationships because parents are educators, allies, and supporters.
Being an educator doesn’t always relate to teaching academics, it may also refer to teaching a life skill. Parents have made hundreds of mistakes and have felt the heartache and pain that accompanies them. My parents have helped me through many trials because they want to help spare me the pain they already experienced. And when I do make a mistake, they always help me through it.
It completely irks me to hear the phrase “My parents are controlling my life!” They are simply trying to guide and teach you. By establishing a relationship with them, you will have a better understanding of them. This will also help you be able to trust and act upon their guidance better.
My parents are my greatest allies I will ever obtain. They are behind me one hundred percent and will always be there to back me up. My mom is my greatest weapon. I always involve her with my problems if conflict is necessary, I’m not talking about actual fights, but in confrontations or arguments. I feel relieved knowing she’s on my side. If I send her in to help me with a problem, I know without a doubt that we will win.
My mom is my ally that I will always keep close. On the other hand, I would crash and burn if I didn’t have my Daddy’s love to push my forward. He’s always waiting with an open embrace to take care of me. I couldn’t survive without him.
Having them beside me during trials is always comforting, but sometimes you need to be able to attack problems on your own. This is why parents offer great support. It is crucial to have supporters when you attack your homework, extracurricular activities, and other responsibilities you have. Without support, you can more easily become depressed and discouraged. When you become stuck in these depressions, it may become difficult to escape them. Parents always want to see you happy and will put all of their efforts into helping you succeed and make you happy again.
It is extremely important to build strong relationships with your family in order to use these relationships to help each other. Parents assist us more than anyone because they are our best educators, allies, and supporters. It is important to thank them so they feel appreciated for of all their hard work. They are always there for us. Don’t you agree that it’s time to return the favor?
