I hate people that gossip. People who gossip are usually liars, exaggerators, truth twisters, and people who never know when to keep their mouths shut. What ever happened to minding your own business? People eavesdrop and hear one thing, then create a fairy tale by morphing whatever they heard into a social poison called gossip. It hurts people, is a general annoyance, and is pointless. The antidote to this poison is to mind your own “beeswax”.
Gossip is a word that belongs with the word rumor. The majority of the time people gossip about a rumor or something that is stretching the truth. For instance, a girl could tell a friend that her mom is pregnant and having another baby. Then an eavesdropping person might only pick up on the word “pregnant” and immediately assume that the girl talking was pregnant. Then the eavesdropping girl would run around the school gossiping about her newly constructed rumor. The next thing that happens is the rumor reaches the victim and he or she now notices people looking at her because she is the center of negative attention. This is how gossip can hurt people.
Gossiping is the most annoying thing on the planet. I hate watching E! News, which covers all of the latest updates on what celebrities are doing. I also hate watching anything that resembles this because people cannot keep to themselves. I do not care what actor E C did last weekend, or which celebrities are dating, and why do people want to keep up with the Ks? None of this pointless gossip affects the way I live my life. It is not entertaining, it is annoying. Gossip does not influence me as I live my life day to day. It just adds to the stress that I do not need.
People need to have filters these days pertaining to the words that come out of their mouths. Instead of eavesdropping and making assumptions, why not keep to yourself, block your ears, or do whatever it takes to let it pass by. It is not hard to be selective and not believe everything heard. Everyone should stop being gullible and stop being persuaded into believing complete nonsense. Why do people share pointless information? They do this to start or continue a conversation, or for entertainment purposes. Everyone needs to stop gossiping and be more concerned about their own lives.Stop gossip and do not let it stop you. A large amount of the time, it will not affect the way a person goes about their day, unless they get involved with it. That is why I ignore it like a lot of other people do. I do not eavesdrop or “butt in” on peoples’ conversations because I know that I am not part of their discussion. I mind my own business. Everyone should know that it is possible to have a normal conversation that does not include gossip. Anyone can help to prevent the spread of the toxin known as gossip.
