The construction of the Muslim mosque near ground zero will be completed on the tenth anniversary of September 11, 2001.
The issue is not the construction of the mosque, rather the location of where it is being built. It is being constructed near ground zero.
I have a problem with where it is being built. It is not right for the Muslim mosque to be built near ground zero because of the families that lost loved ones on that site.
The mosque is going to be right across the street from one of the fire departments that responded to the attacks on the twin towers.
The leader in charge of the construction is a man named Imam Fiesal Abdul Rauf. His goal is that the mosque will create coalitions across the religious divide between Muslims and Americans.
During a 2005 conference in Australia Imam said, “America may be worse than Al Qaeda. We tend to forget in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than Al Qaeda has on its hands of innocent non-Muslims.”
He continued by saying, “You may remember that the U.S-led sanctions against Iraq that led to the death of over half a million Iraqi children. This has been documented by the United Nations.”
In response to Imam’s comments on the relationship between the United States and Muslim countries, diplomats and others including former President Bill Clinton said that his sentiment is wrong. Clinton said, “Sadam Hussein’s regime corrupted then-U.N. sanctions and denied humanitarian aid to his own people.”
Clinton continued by adding, “If any child is without food or medicine, then Saddam was to blame because the dictator was lying to the world and claiming the mean and old United States were killing his children.”
During Imam’s Australian visit, the Imam said, “The Arab and Muslim world senses that the West does not care about Muslim lives and their pain and anguish is not heard. Frustrations and emotions can lead to terrorism,” actions he condemned.
I believe that the Imam is taken advantage of the fact that the relationship between Muslims and Americans is not so good. It is no surprise that Muslims drove the two 757 commercial airlines into the twin towers. Therefore, our view towards Muslims is a result of what a group of radical Muslims did on 9/11.
The Imam believes that right now because America is unsure on how they feel about 9/11 after nine years, he thinks Americans are soft and he will be able to get away with building a mosque near ground zero.
If you understand the Muslim religion you know that when they conquer pieces of land they build shrines or temples as a sign of victory. I feel that the construction of the mosque near ground zero is a victory lap for the radical and extremist Muslim terrorists.
Another concern I have with this project is where the Imam is getting the money to build this. In an interview done on fox news’s morning news show, a veteran fire fighter sat done with the Imam and asked him where he was getting 4.8 million dollars to build a 13 story mosque.
The Imam answered, “It is money that I am receiving from community members.” The fire fighter said, “Yes Imam you already told me this but from who exactly are you getting the money from.” The Imam did not comment any further.
I am unsure of the Imam’s true intentions with building this mosque near ground zero. People in America believe the mosque will lead to an Islaminization of America, and others just feel it will better the relationship between America and Muslim countries.
I believe the construction is still a great unknown and that few really know the true intentions behind the construction of this mosque. New York has suffered enough and this mosque will just create more tension between Americans and Muslims around the world. Hopefully, the mosque will not be constructed and America will grow a backbone and say no, enough is enough and this just goes too far!
