I have faith in only one human ethic-Peace.
In Arabic, we depart with the words “Ma Salam” which means, with peace.
Peace is always wished upon the familiar or the stranger. In Arabic, there are so many words that wrap the listeners with messages that are supposed to remind us of our connection to each other and with the hope for peace in each other’s lives.
I care for nothing else in this world but for the forces of love that lifts the word “peace” or “Salam” or “Shalom” from the hearts of the believers to their minds shaping their view of life into a healthier more human outlook.
I believe there is another world inside our own. One in which darkness casts no shadow. My belief is not a mode or a means of living – it is the very purpose of my breathing. If war consists of the dark clouds that weather brings then peace is the ray that penetrates the denseness of it all. I believe in talking about peace even in the face of war. Peace can and shall crack through the waxy rhetoric and shatter thick lenses of past-prejudice.
I believe we can create a picture-perfect peace for all the children of this world. Finally, I believe it is this special time in history that requires the dreamers and artists of this world to draw-up new visions for the world of tomorrow.
