I believe that if you make a wish, you can make that wish come true. Anyone is capable of accomplishing something they believe in. The key to that though is believing. Just like the quote “seeing is believing.” Having sight of your dreams is the first step into going for them and making those dreams happen. If someone believes in him or herself or sees something for him or herself, then they can accomplish whatever they set their minds to. I believe that no matter the person, no matter what they look like, mo matter their state in life, they hold potential. The potential to be or accomplish something great.
I believe that too many people are told they cannot do something. Whereas, in reality, when it comes down to it only WE can determine what we can or cannot do. No one else can tell us that. I see people everyday; my own friends, giving up on themselves or on their goals and aspirations because of someone else, and you know what else I believe? I believe that needs to stop. Too many people are losing sight of what means the world to them, and for what? One comment made by someone else. No one can stop you from making your dreams happen and turning them into a reality. No one should have to give up something that makes him or her happy and that they enjoy or that they feel is important to them. Each person has the right to his or her own feelings and aspirations. Take Martin Luther King Jr., for instance. He once had a dream, a famous dream that everyone has heard. What would our world have been like if he had not gone through with making his dream known? Anyone who has accomplished something great in their lives has believed and felt strongly for that something. Who knows where we would have been today without that faith and belief in themselves and their motivation…their drive to keep going. Nothing would have been achieved.
I believe that children need to be encouraged at a younger age that they are capable of becoming that ballerina that every little girl wants to be or that astronaut that walks on the moon that every little boy dreams of. Those dreams and wishes shouldn’t just be shrugged off. Children need to be encouraged and taught that anything they want to be they CAN be. Anything and everything is possible. As long as they know that a lot of hard work comes along with accomplishing that.
I believe that parents and teachers are the foundation of children’s hopes and ideas. Children look up to their parents and teachers, and believe what they say. They need to be taught good work ethics, and need to be able to experiment. I believe that no one should be held back. If they believe in something, let them go for it, no matter where it takes them. Everyone learns from their experiences, so the more they try the more likely they will eventually succeed. And I feel that will all this, children will one day grow up to be more confident. Not only confident in their surroundings but also confident in themselves and their ability to do what they love and have wanted for so long.
So basically, I guess it just comes right down to, as simple as it sounds, the fact that I DO believe. I believe in me, the power of my dreams, and the possibility for my future. Who knows? Maybe someday I can make a difference in this world and help millions of people, all because of my ability to dream big and never give up. I believe everyone should be given the same opportunity as well.
