I believe in choice. Choices are made every day whether they are noticed or not. Sometimes it’s a life decision or sometimes it is deciding what you want to eat but everything you do on a daily basis is a choice. I believe that just because you are told to do something doesn’t mean you have to do it, there is always the option. For example it is my choice to hand in this essay, some might say it is not a choice because it is being forced on you but you don’t have to do it if you don’t mind getting the consequences. Choosing to not do your homework isn’t always the smartest thing to do but you can chose not to if you want to. I think it is just important to know that there is that option for everything, to do or not to do. I believe that it is our right to make a choice and that there is always a reason behind it no matter what the decision is.
The reason that we are all different is the freedom to chose how we act, dress, talk etc. My parents always loved me playing baseball but as I got older I got sick of it and wanted to quit, they told me I shouldn’t but I eventually did. Quitting baseball led me to doing track which got me in great shape and I was happy about going rather than being angry when I had to go to baseball. This shows how doing what interested me also ended up benefitting me.
I believe that letting someone force you to do something against your will is wrong, I mean yes you can take advice and it may be in your best interest to listen but there is always the choice of whether you listen or not. I believe in making things the way we want them not the way others tell you to. Choosing your own direction in life rather than being forced into something you don’t want to do. This may be misconstrued as me saying that we should ignore what people say to us but what I mean is that I believe that recognizing my right to chose is very important in my life.
