I Believe in Beauty

I believe there is beauty in everyone, but not always seen. Beauty to me, is the true soul of a person, the desire of the heart in a person, and the appreciation of talents a person has been given. The magnificent power beauty possesses, is sometimes unknown by the holder. Once discovered and appreciated by another observant person, the hidden secrets can be known to the one who could not see on their own. These discoveries can help change a spirits bad perceptive of self-image and inspire to keep up the good work they hold within.

For example, I have always loved to play lacrosse but did not consider myself amazingly good. However, when my coach would say, “Josie we really need you in this game and we’re counting on you to score goals,” my self-esteem was lifted, motivating me to prove to my coach he was correct about what he said. The faith he showed in me, lead me to improve even more, becoming a more successful player. I believe this success benefited the whole team and blessed me with more advantages. I was able to earn the respect of teammates. I was also able to have an overly good feeling about the choices I made on the team. Along with improving my skill, the respect I earned gave me the power to help other teammates because they trusted what I said, and felt the faith I had in them.

This positive quality beauty brings, never allows selfishness to hide the true value. I believe as we let our light shine from this trait, we allow others to emulate as well. Through this light, it slowly beams inside people’s heart allowing open doors to be seen behind the darkness that covered it up before. The dark would be considered the lies and confusions of the world, blinding what is true and joyful. Beauty will only fade as a person allows these lies to overcome their thoughts and block the happiness beauty brings.

As a person is confident and knows the beauty that lies within them, I believe they build strong character that can influence the good of mankind. Beauty possessed by all, is only shown through the courage of the possessor. The person who knows the beauty inside can easily let peoples wrong accusations bounce off. The individual then is able to maintain a consistent character that is optimistic in any situation. Once we allow beauty to preserve through the hard times in life, we can always maintain a light that will bring the beauty in others too. The beauty that is held inside each and every one of us is meant to be brought out so we can truly appreciate what we were given. The belief has formed me to look for the beauty in each and every person and help the hidden be discovered to all.
