I could begin the story of my life with my family and parents. They are the most important thing to me because they have helped me grow and develop throughout the years. They gave me the things that I needed to grow as a person and they still gave me everything that I need to become in the future. No matter what I do, they will always be by my side helping me through the everyday situations that life has to bring. I have two younger brothers who I would give the world to if it came down to it. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without them. They have given me my basic needs like food, clothes, and my health, a place to live, and above all love. Among all these things they have given me, perhaps the most important value that my family appreciates is education. We are all told at one point in time or another, that we can be whatever we want to be and to set our goals high, and never give up.
Education has always been a big importance in my life. My family has had a major impact on education and how essential it is in one’s life. My parent’s are both college graduates. They have always emphasized how important it is to be educated. My mother, who has her Phys.D and works as a radiologist has had many years of educating and it, certainly continues to reward her every day. My dad, also a college graduate has a master’s degree and works for the government as a computer analyst. Without them getting the proper education and being able to fulfill their career desires, my life wouldn’t be like it would today. Education helps you mature and grow as a person. The same can be said for myself every day that I learn something new I grow and mature as a person.
The basic definition of the word education from the Webster’s dictionary is, “the act or process of imparting or acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, and generally of preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life.” who would have imagined that such a word takes several years of hard work , dedication and commitment. It’s the prime years of learning and schooling that make all the difference for a life time. It’s where we learn the most about social skills and character. It is also these years when people are trained skills for everyday life. As the age of the person increases, more of the education is established on the interest of the person. For human kind to advance and surpass, every generation has to attain more information.
Many people dream about having a successful career. Doctor’s, lawyer’s, teacher’s, and even CEO’s of major corporations had to all be trained and educated to be where they are today. Education is one of the most important means that society posses. The skill to better our selves is by far one of the strongest abilities of the human race. Today, education has become one of the most essential aspects of a person’s life. With the proper amount of education, the opportunities are endless. Going to school opens doors for not only achievement but also economic success.
A college education now days can cost a lot of money and time, but the rewards are endless. Continuing education to the college level is an important decision in a person’s life. Attending college increases a person’s pay and availability for jobs to them in the future. Having a bachelor’s degree is now becoming the minimum for most jobs, where as; ten years ago it was only a high-school education in many cases. A person with a college degree is more looked upon in society as more intelligent and knowledgeable than a person with no degree. Besides the economic benefits, the learning and knowledge that comes with a college education are unlimited.
Education is a tool to succeed in life. In a society that values economic power and money so much the wealthy are the one’s who are given a better breeding in education, than most people. A learning experience can be done anywhere, not just in the classroom. Every one is given an education in some type of form today. It gives me the power and ability to make better choices in life, not only for myself but also for my family and future. It is a tradition in my family to get an admirable education. I am determined to be the best I can be and to accomplish goals that I have for my life. I want to reach my goal, which is to become a psychiatrist, and I will try my best, but it’s all ultimately up to me to make that happen. Education has not only helped me grow as a person, but also had endlessly helped and rewarded my family. I will for ever be appreciated for it.
