I believe that abortion is very wrong because there is no reason to take a life of a living baby. Abortion is wrong in a lot of ways. First of all, it is killing a living baby, who could be the doctor who finds the cure for cancer, or the next Pope. All the babies we are killing from abortion are children of God who deserve to live. The worst part is that their voices can’t be heard, because they don’t have a choice to live.

How many babies die from an abortion in a year? 1.5 million babies die a year, 4,000 babies die each day, and 1 baby dies every 20 seconds. Ever since I was little I have always gone to a Pro-life rally that is hosted at our church. We would stand silently on the side of the road holding up signs and praying for all the aborted and unborn babies. I never really understood what abortion was until about 7th grade. I went to a gathering at Holy Trinity and they talked to us about abortions. At that moment I realized how horrible, disturbing, and wrong abortion is.

I believe that life begins at conception. God made us the way we are for a reason. “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” (Genesis 1:27) This verse from the bible really stands out to me because God created us in his image, and there are people murdering his beautiful creation, a baby.

I started St. James Academy this year as a freshman. About 2 months ago everyone in our school adopted an unborn baby that is at risk of being aborted. I named mine Dylan. I pray 3 times a week for him during English class. Another thing our school did was we sent Obama these red envelopes that were empty. On the back there was writing that said, “ Mr. President, This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion. It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be a part of our world.” I am very happy to see all the people fighting for what they believe in. I don’t care about what others say, but I believe abortion is wrong.
