This I Believe

I believe in the absence of ignorant governments. Yes there should be rules, or morals, that apply to everyone, but the government should not have the outright ability to say what is right or wrong that should be decided by the people. Yes while we do live in a self proclaimed “democracy” the not everyone gets to give their thoughts/ feelings on certain subjects. High up leaders in the political world are the reason that our country is in the shape it is today they spend millions/ billions of dollars on hopeless causes. Border patrol, no matter what we do if people want to be in America bad enough they will find a way. The war on drugs, they spend so much time and effort in to this that other forms of law enforcement don’t have the funding they require, people are going to do drugs & all violence will cause is for it to be driven underground like it has where it gets stronger and more violent. Large companies are give grants on grants instead of students and other operations such as shelters and food pantries. AIG was given a multimillion dollar bail out by the government, why, because that is where their pensions are held at. The government thinks of itself first and its people second. Where was the money and recourses insurance companies need to reimburse people who have lost homes, family, jobs, and their whole way of lives? Aside from money our government has made irrational laws as well. The legal drinking age in the U.S. is 21, sounds like a good idea right? Wrong the government has based its decision to keep this law on account of the fact that sconce it was made fatal automobile accidents of people in the 15-22 year old group has decreased right at 13%, yet the rate of alcohol related fatalities in that same age grouped has increased almost 21%. What type of government says that at 18 you can vote and die for your country yet it won’t allow you to drink? These are some of the ignorant decisions that have been made by our government. I believe that the government should be allowed to make these decisions, decisions on the topics which they are so ignorant to.
