In life I am learning and experiencing so many things, whether it is good or bad. At this point of time in life, I am experiencing and understanding some of the things I see and hear. Sometimes I comprehend most of what is going on in my life and other people’s lives; however, when it is brought to my attention—literally in my face— I become dumbfounded and hit with disappointment. There are a lot of things that happen in life, and most of the time no one knows why he or she is dealing with certain things such as obstacles, crossroads, or dead ends.

From what I have learned and experienced, I noticed that what we encounter is not always true, and that the appearance of something, or what we interpret, is not always real. When I meet and get to know people, I get the impression that they are good people with good intentions. I met this one girl at school and at first; she seemed amiable, dependable, trustworthy, and honest. She had been acting like this for a while until one week; she talked bad about a couple of girls to others behind their backs, so, I just sat there and listened. However, one day someone confronted her. She denied all the actual things that she said about the girls and started treating them as if they were very good friends. During this situation, I was wondering if my so called “friend” was doing the same thing to me as she did to the other girls. From then on, I realized that the girl’s true character was manifested, and I made a decision that I would not be around her because she was fake.

I believe that everything that happens in our lives happens for a reason, and everything you see is not always real.

I have learned some of the reasons why we go through what we go through, is so we can realize who or what surrounds us. I have figured out that it is when you are in a real situation you true, hidden character shows. Many things happen throughout my life but the way you respond is an essential characteristic. At times you will be in difficult situations, but at the end of the day, it is all about getting right back up, learning your lesson, and becoming a better person from other people and your encounters.
