Family is one of the most important things in my life. My family is like my back bone, they keep me going no matter what happens. I feel that my family is close, meaning that we share our feelings with each other and we are each other’s best friend. I believe that we are a strong family because we participate in activities together. One of those activities is eating dinner together.

Since I can remember I have eaten dinner with my family almost every night. We had to have assigned seats because one of my brothers and I did not get along. My other brother had to sit in a certain seat. My family has grown since those days. Two of my brothers have since gotten married and have kids. Family dinners are still an occurrence but not as often.

Family dinners are definitely more exciting these days because they do not happen as often. Recently there was one dinner where the entire family was together which does not happen often because one of my brothers lives in Peru. Timmy was home visiting. My Dad made his world famous dinner. We had ribs, mashed potatoes, salad, asparagus and steak. We always have a great time when we sit down and eat dinner. Timmy told many exciting stories from Peru. We laughed and just caught up on everyone’s personal life. One question that we all asked Timmy was if he had a girlfriend. Surprisingly he did. We all had questions to ask him, like how old she was, was she from Peru, did she work at his school. Timmy did not like us asking questions but we kept teasing him anyways.

During every dinner my parents will ask everyone how there day went and if there’s anything new. After we all say how our day was we usually get sidetracked by something someone says. I might then say something funny that happened to me today. My parents and brothers then usually make fun of me. My Dad and Mom will talk about their days at work. The best story my Mom had from work was when she yelled at people she worked with, I was so surprised.

We have a fun time as a family because we laugh and make fun of each other. I love to eat dinner with my family because if I have a bad day they are always there to cheer me up. I believe that we are a strong family because we always spend time together eating dinner which was a great way to bond with my family.
