Never Give Up

I believe that every time we do not succeed we must not give up. “The greatest glory lies not in never falling, but rising every time you fall.” is a quote by Nelson Mandela. I strongly believe in this because I live by this every day. I have always been a competitive athlete and I love to win. But everyone knows that you cannot win every game you play. When we win I am disappointed but I don’t quit. I look at the situation and think about what I can do better next time or what I can do to prevent it from happening next time. This has helped me become a better athlete, by never giving up. If I want to win bad enough I will go after it.

I also believe it is important to never give up with education. I am in the 9th grade and this year has been harder than ever. I have struggled with one class in particular, Spanish. There have been many times when I have wanted to give up because I didn’t understand the grammar rules or how to conjugate a verb. Giving up is not the solution in any instance and so I decided to pick myself up and try again and again until I understood it. Each test we took I got a better and better score and it was good to see my hard work pay off. This really showed me and made me believe more and more that not giving up really does pay off.

These are just a few small examples of why you should never give up. But life can through bigger things at you than losing a game on a sports team or not understanding something in class. Jobs may get hard and family’s situations may become hard, but that does not mean give up. It means you should try all the more to get what you what. If you have a goal and you work hard at it, you will reach it. All it takes is hope, determination and faith in yourself.
