I believe that you should never have to fear for what others may think. All that matters is what you think! Especially in today’s society, there is a certain standard that everyone is trying to meet. To be popular, wear the best clothes, have the latest hairstyle. What is so wrong with being unique? No two people are the same. So, why is it we try so hard to fit in with the crowd rather than find our own style?

I love to wear funky clothing and change my hairstyles to something out of the norm. It isn’t uncommon to see me wearing vibrant colored wigs around school. Lots of people find that weird and “uncool”. But what’s so wrong with it? Why should I try to be something I’m not? I am my own person why shouldn’t I show it?

Standing out is part of my nature I guess. I am kind of a random/eccentric person to begin with. And I know I can’t be the only person out there who thinks of strange things to do or wear, shocking I know. But, I believe that people should never have to be afraid of who they are just because it isn’t widely accepted. Think of how boring life would be if nobody decided to think outside the box or change anything. We would still be living in the Middle Ages! Fun as that would be I like my computer a bit too much.

Also, who gives “popular” people the right to dictate what people should be wearing? I mean really, when was the last time you sat and listened to people badmouthing someone for how they dress or act and thought to yourself “Yippee this is a stirring conversation”? Why do they even care what someone else is dressed like? It’s none of their business.

Everyone should have the right and confidence to be the person they want to be without fear of being exiled. Who you are is the most important thing and if people don’t like you because of appearances, well then it’s their loss. Be who you are and don’t ever change.
