I believe the importance of family.

Of course I learned the importance of family from reading books, but I really did not notice how necessary it is. Not only me, but also most of teenagers would not realize the love of family. Because in most of the case, they staying with family all the time. This year, I experienced how hard living without family is.

My older sister had been to America as an exchange student. She was in America for 1 year in the university. After my sister came back to home, she said the most difficult thing was that there was no family around her. Also, she had to decide everything without any help. Also there was no Korean except her, so she felt very lonely at first. However, I really couldn’t understand her. Because I did not have any experiences that staying other places without my family.

This year, when I decided to go to the U.S.A. to study hard, I really couldn’t feel actually. The reason why I could not feel actually was that I have never been to other countries for long time without my family. When I arrived here, I even did not think that I left my home without my family at all. At first, even though I learned English in Korea for a while, but I still had a hard time to understand American people. To understand the different culture and the language was very difficult for me. Not only the difficulty of understanding differences in culture, but also the fact that I’m alone was also makes me hard to feel actually.

When I was in Korea, whenever I was sick, then my family always cared me. However, when I had a cold after I came to America, there was no one to cares me. I had to care for my health myself. The fact that there was no one to care me, makes miss my family. In Korea, when someone is sick, then most of the friends called them and ask if they feel better. After I had a call from my friends, my family, I really felt better than before.

After I experienced many things, I realize for the first time how important staying close to my family is. I’ve learned that love of family is one of the necessary things to live. Also I noticed the importance of family.
