This I Believe

I believe people never take the time to notice the beauty in nature. I came to this

realization one day when I noticed how beautiful the skyline was in the fall. One autumn day I

was returning from work, I began to notice the leaves in the trees as I drove past. The beautiful shades of yellows, oranges, and reds lit the dull afternoon sky. As the gentle wind blew the leaves rose and fell like flames licking through the air. As I thought about the view I was amazed at that brilliance of color and the motion of it all. I began to think this is the death of another year for it was time to move on. This began to sadden me for this was nature’s funeral in its height. I began to think how wonderful this sight was and thought to myself this is something I have only seen in pictures. My car window was the picture frame and the brilliantly colored leaves were the masterpiece behind the glass of the frame. Instantly I wanted to take a picture for I knew this beautiful view would only last a few days. The red and gold leaves slowly drifting down to the ground were all in a flutter in the afternoon sky. They would soon turn to a dried brown color. I wonder if the fall leaves inspire other people the way they have inspired me for the beauty of these wonderful fall colors are almost indescribable. The viewing of these wonderful colors and light fill me with joy and awe. Although the autumn leaves are the death of another year they also bring hope with the thought of a new year approaching. The colors of the fall have disappeared for now but I know they will return again next October. I will be looking forward to the new view and inspiration from the beautiful fall colors. We are presented with a beautiful scene from nature everyday. I know after this day I take the time to notice all the wonder and beauty nature has to offer. It is important to take notice of the beauty in nature because each day offers a new and wondrous sight. If we fail to pay attention what would we have missed?
