The Best of Life

Almost my whole life, most of my friends and I have gone to the same, small, private school. Throughout the years people have come and gone; a couple of us have left for a year or two and have come back. Last year all of my friends left except for one of my closest friends and me; I decided it was time to go somewhere else for a change. I was really excited, but also nervous at the same time and it was definitely hard. So now I am a junior and attending my first year at a new school. Now everything has changed; walking in the halls is different. In my old school, you knew everyone and their whole life story; but now when you walk down the halls of a huge school, you only know a few people until you get out of your shell to meet more. Most people, I noticed, already know each other and have their cliques because they’ve gone their a couple years, which makes it really hard. Even though life right now isn’t the best, I still have to be positive and make the best of life right now.

Life for me is great mainly because I choose to make the best out of the hard parts and work through the problems. Many people give up right away and choose not to deal with their problems, or they deal with them in other ways that can sometimes make things worse. When an area of their life gets hard, they try and sometimes fail to get through it. Maybe it’s because many things in their life have gone wrong in life so they don’t try anymore or maybe it’s because they’ve failed many times. Everyone can change their lives around, but it’s up to them. At the time, you may think you can’t get through something, but you can; a lot of people just give up easily.

Not caring what people think and being yourself contributes to making the best of life and succeeding because if someone thinks less of you, you will have to move on from it and keep being positive. Anyone, whether you’re an adult or a teenager, is going to have many people that will judge you or won’t like you, but they really don’t know you. It’s our responsibility to ignore everything bad we hear and not let it bother us. Words can really have a tremendous affect on anyone. At first it can be easy to let the words slide off your back, but eventually they can really build up and they can really hurt or change a person.

Making the best of life consists of putting a smile on, not giving up, and being a positive person. Although it can be extremely difficult to keep a positive outlook on life all the time, it’s really important to put effort into it or your life won’t change. Even though the people we hang around or what people say to us can have a positive or negative affect, I’ve learned that it’s only up to you and how you choose to live your life. I believe you should make the best with whatever life throws at you.
