This I Believe

Has anybody asked you why you haven’t lost your virginity? People feel that just because you are a certain age you should be ready. The reason I believe you can have sex when you feel you are ready is because they say some kids have sex at an early age. But me personally, I am still a virgin. I know how it feels to be pressured into something.

I was 15 years old when I had to deal with having sex. My boyfriend, who I was madly in love with, thought that since I was in love with him I would have sex with him. I felt pressured at the time and how I feel that I am going to wait until I’m ready. When I told my boyfriend that I wanted to wait he told me in a calm voice that he would wait until I am ready to become more intimate with him. I feel nobody should be pressured into doing it until they are ready.

I have friends that are sexually active and some regret they lost their virginity, and some happy they lost it. I believe you can have sex when you feel you are ready.
