Hard Work Pays Off
You cannot expect that education will come from the sky, you have to earn it. When you were five and your teacher asked you “What do you want to be when you grow up”, everybody probably said “ I want to be a Police officer, a firefighter maybe a Astronaut” But its your choice if you really really want to achieve your personal legend or not. That’s why I Believe that when it comes to Education, you have to have to sacrifice and put all your effort in order to have more choices in life, and then it will pay off.
My Dad who is a transplant surgeon studied in a University, Medical School and then residency in the United States as a foreigner. During these times, he couldn’t spend time having fun because he had to study for many, many hours or prepare for important exams. These preparations maybe difficult at the time but I know for a fact that it will benefit you in the long run. My dad always put forth the most effort possible and there isn’t a second that goes by not learning something. One time their was a father that was from Vietnam that was denied being operated on by various hospitals because it was too difficult. He was diagnosed with some sort of Liver disease that penetrated other organs as well. He was going to die in a matter of hours, so my dad rushed to the ER on Saturday night to do an immediate operation. The whole family was crying outside in the waiting room while he was rushed to the OR. Before the operation my dad went his family and said to his six year old daughter “it’s not over yet, your father still has a chance to live, so stay strong”. The operation lasted for 16 hours. The next day the he woke up in the ICU with a teddy bear beside him and about thirty “Get well” cards. His daughter ran to my dad and said “thank you for saving my daddy’s life” Five years later, he is still big and strong with no complications whatsoever. During the holidays their whole family gives us Christmas cards and gifts on how grateful they are of still having their father standing beside them.
Day by Day goes by and still have that memory implanted in my brain. If you want to be somebody then be it but you have to work hard to be it. If you want be a person who doesn’t care about education and wants to struggle in life then fine go work mopping the floor or go make burgers at McDonalds. I believe that you have to take education really seriously to have more choices in life, and then it will pay off…. This I Believe
