Some things I truly believe….
I believe it’s ok to have beliefs. I believe that a single kiss is one of the sexiest things in the world. I believe that all answers can be found in Nature. I believe there’s nothing wrong with pitchers and pitchers of Marguerita on a hot day. I believe there’s no excuse for trying to steal third with your team down in the game. If you do, you should be made to live without beliefs. I believe that underwear is useless in more instances than we’d like to believe. I believe that everything on the internet is true – to someone.
I believe in getting to know your parents, especially if you’re one of the lucky ones to still have them standing in front of you when you’ve been down some roads yourself. I believe in an old person’s eyes. I believe in sitting in a chair and stroking the dog who loves you – all afternoon and all night – and maybe into morning too. I believe every sunset is God opening the door to show us His place. I believe every sunrise is a golden opportunity. I believe the glory of love is more powerful than a hundred piece orchestra. I believe in letting insects live if they aren’t out to bite, sting or pinch you. I believe if you let insects bite, sting or pinch you, you have better beliefs than me. I believe storms cleanse. I believe if you aren’t your own best friend then you can never be someone else’s. I believe in forgiveness. I believe in the old days. I believe there isn’t anything wrong with thinking of your “wild years” with fondness even if you aren’t really sorry about the people you offended when you streaked through Howard Johnson’s. I believe that to be called a rugged individualist is a better badge of honor than any membership card to any ideology.
I believe that Pluto is the coldest thing in our sights. I believe even Pluto has a purpose even if it’s to be hard, cold and lonely. I believe in every line of every country song. I believe that to listen to those lines over and over will make you a little less like Pluto and maybe a kinder person.
I believe in old dogs. I believe in old people. I believe in old people who can still laugh or smack you upside the head if they don’t like you or what you’ve said. I believe in the truth more than I believe in anything else. I believe that the person who said the truth will set you free is so smart, I can hardly believe someone was that smart once.
I believe in mud puddles. I believe in cold rain. I believe in hockey fights. I believe in winter landscapes – a lot. I believe that a child’s giggle is akin to the most beautiful piece of music ever made. I believe that to make a child laugh is to create a great moment in 2 peoples’ day. I believe some people should go live on Pluto – and not come back. I believe that evil is easily defeated, especially in yourself.
I believe so many great things happen in one second, we could never begin to count them all. I believe in this world.
