Change for our planet

I believe in a change for the planet. Do you realize that your planet’s ozone layer is depleting? Do you even know why the planet is doing this? We as inhabitants of this wonderfully created planet with all it gives, have an innate moral responsibility to take care of the Lord’s beautiful planet. The problem is people don’t know enough about global warming. Its time people learn about fossil fuels, deforestation, and learn how to fight them.

Fossil fuels provide us with electricity, gas for your car, and they help with the producing of items in factories. Now, I know this sounds great, but the burning of fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide into the air, which slows the escape of heat into space. This is bad because it increases the temperature of the earth, making holes in the ozone layer. This can lead to the melting of polar caps that would lead to a rise in the sea level. These caps have been shrinking since the 1970’s. If this doesn’t sound bad enough to make you conserve your energy, there’s more. A huge problem that is causing global warming is deforestation.

Deforestation is the cutting down of the forests and the destruction of vegetation. This is a problem because plants and trees are the only thing that absorbs the carbon dioxide that we put into the air. They do this through the process of photosynthesis. This is when plants absorb energy from the sun. Why would we want to get rid of the only thing that can stop global warming? We need to stop this. And I’m going to tell you how we can help the world to stop using fossil fuels and deforestation.

We need to stop using fossil fuels. Humans have to find another source of energy. There are many options such as wind, solar, and nuclear energy. We need to put our governmental funding into making one of these energy sources consistent, for that’s the problem with them. If we can get rid of this we will be better off. This is not all we can do for the Lord’s amazing planet. We can also fight deforestation by recycling more paper products. Tons of trees are cut down for paper. This is why everyone should be using recycled paper. It’s better for the environment. This is just a start in the right direction. Now we need to take the initiative and follow through with this.

God created this world for us humans to live on and take care of. We need to follow through with this. We need to do whatever we can to help protect our world from this serious problem of global warming. The time for change is now. I believe we can fight this. The time is now. We must rise to the challenge. We owe this to future generations. So lets not wait.
