Have you ever heard the expression “money talks?” Well it is a common expression used worldwide. Money fuels the world, and makes the world go round. If you have money you can do anything, and go anywhere. Money unfortunately can get people into to schools and get people jobs that were otherwise unqualified. It is just one of the vile facts of life; money has power and a lot of it at that.
Money is what makes people get up at ungodly hours in the morning to go to work. It is what causes people to work twelve and sixteen hour days. It is what everyone thrives for. It is just a fact of life, money fuels the world. Without money, you can’t do anything; it is that simple, cut and dry. Money is a beast that sadly controls our lives. For example; a college only has only one more spot open on its baseball roster, but two guys to choose from. On one hand you have a poor kid who all his life has worked hard and fought his way through adversity to become the best possible baseball player he can be. And on the other hand you have a spoiled rich kid who has always just had a raw talent and never had to work on his game a day in his life. But, the main difference between the two is that the rich kid’s dad is an alumnus of the college and his big company writes checks to the athletic department every year. So although the poor kid is a better player, the nature of the beast is that the rich kid is going to get the last and final spot on the team. That’s just the way life is.
Money controls everything we do. It controls what we eat, what we wear, what we drive, where we live, and even the way we think. Even if you do not realize it, it controls you, as evident from the current financial crisis we are facing. Mortgage companies and banks saw dollar signs and approved loans that had no business getting approved. So Americans now know that money is the fuel that we run on. That is why I believe “money talks.”
