I believe in pride; not of my ethnicity, nation state of my parent’s origin, melanin, faith or lack of that I am proud of. Nor is it the pride of my geographic location and its franchised athletic teams.
I have pride of who I am outside of the above mentioned categories. Pride of what I’ve accomplished and what I plan to; to make myself, my world and my world’s world better.
Perhaps if this sense of pride was instilled from the beginning we would not be so distracted with our differences. Maybe we would all work together for that which we have in common.
This, I believe.
