I believe that no matter what I should always stand up for myself.
When I was about ten years old, this big, tuff, older girl used to pick on me. She laughed at the way I looked, walked, and talked. I asked my dad what should I do. He replied with me in his arms, “Stick up for yourself. Do not let her run you over and over again.” I took his advice, and it worked. The next day she called me a name, and I said,” Thank you.” That was the only thing I could think of at the time, but she didn’t understand why I was saying thank-you when she was calling me a name. She threatened to beat me up, and I said, “Go ahead, I can take it.” She just walked off, and she never bothered me again.
From that day, I stood up for myself. I never let anyone bring me down. If they call me names, I am positive and say thank-you. I believe that standing up for myself will help me through high school and through this big, huge world. No matter what, I am going to stand up for myself.
If anyone wants to pick on me, I will make it positive. If they threaten me, I will just tell them to bring it, and I will be standing up for myself. You have a better chance of not getting hurt, I think. Standing up for yourself works most of the time. Some bullies don’t know when to quit and keep bothering you. It always works for me. I am strong about it, I have a strong voice. I know I won’t let anyone pick on me.
I believe I should always stand up for myself. I am always going to take that advice from my dad. I believe others should stand up for them selves, it helps and you would feel much better than letting them beat you down. Getting beat down does not feel great, that is why standing up to the person who is bothering you would help and that somebody will leave you alone. Stand up for yourself, myself, always.
