This I Believe
Have you ever worked really hard for something for you to get like a promotion or a good grade and then you got it? This is why I believe that hard work pays off. I have had this belief since the 6th grade and this belief as just made my life better and my belief stronger.
The first part in my life that made me start to believe that hardwork was good was in the 6th grade. In 6th grade, school got more complicated, and I had to have more precise work. So after the first couple of weeks, I made a goal for myself to work hard in school and hopefully get scholarships. So I worked hard all that year and got mostly A’s and only a couple of B’s. I was very happy about that. Then at the end of the year they were giving away the Dream Scholarship award, the award given to the person who did well in school and had leadership skills and other stuff, and I won it. I was dumbfounded and excited at the thought that I had gotten it. From then on I thought that this belief would get me through life.
The time in my life that made me most devoted to this belief was this summer when I was working for my mom’s boss, and I was supposed to be only working there for a couple of days. But, I worked so my butt off and was exhausted each and every day I came home. It paid off when I surprisingly heard that my mom’s boss wanted me to work for him for the rest of the summer. I think that since many of those things have happened to me, it has just hardened my belief and made it more concrete. My parents have always told me to work my hardest at anything I do, and I would be able to make anything possible. The one example that showed me the most about this working through life was the example of my dad. He has only been working at this place for couple of months, and he was working as hard as he could to get to be permanent at the business. He did well because everyone liked him and respected him and he worked so hard that the big manager gave him, not only a permanent position but also gave him a promotion. This just shows that my parents go by this belief to and that this belief can work anywhere with anything.
In conclusion, I think that hard work pays off, because you have seen all the good it has done in my life and I think everyone should believe in this to a certain extent. I think that this belief has made all the difference in my life and could also make a difference in yours. That is why I believe that hard work pays off in the end.
