My mom always said that responsibility is something that one gains, not one inherits. It comes with doing the things one needs to do without being told to do it. Responsibility is a main concept that everyone needs to learn without it we will not gain anything such as jobs, family, and respect from others. People who do not have responsibility lose respect from others, therefore they are not trusted. I believe that everyone needs responsibility in order to deal with the things one has to do in order to be happy and to make others happy.
I have two younger brothers, who are quite a handful. By being the oldest in my family I am required to take care of them while my parents are away at work or busy with other things they need to do to provide for or family. When my parents are gone they leave me in charge of everything, at times I feel like a parent taking care of the chores of the house and most of all my little brothers. I have realized though that with taking care of my brothers I have learned a certain responsibility and that is being a mom.
There are many types of responsibilities out there and some might not be what one needs. But I believe that with every responsibility comes great challenges that everyone needs to face and live up to. Responsibility builds a person whether weak or strong depending on if they want to take on the responsibilities. Facing one’s responsibilities is growing up, everyone needs to grow up eventually but some take there times.
I am really thankful that my parents took the time to teach me responsibility at a young age. It has helped me a lot, especially with going to college and living on my own. Some people may not think that responsibility is important but in the end it is what makes life matters. It is what makes you old and face challenges on your own without one’s parents help. It is what makes us adults.
