I Believe In Country Music
Country music is something I deaply believe in for many reasons. When I am having a hard time in life, whether it be school, family, relationships, or sports, I can always count on country music to make me happy. I know to many people country may not be their kind of life style, but the music means much more than just being a redneck or living on a farm. It is about enjoying life and sticking close to the people you love. I love country music because it relates to my life and almost everything I do. I love to ride horses, hunt, fish, camp, and most of all just being outside. George Strait is my favorite country music artist because he likes to write songs about all of my hobbies and share his own life experiences with his audience. One of his best hits were “Out of the Blue Clear Sky”, which ment that things just come up out of no where and you either have to go with it or work through it. My personal favorite is “Carrying Your Love With Me”, also by George Strait. Even though this is an older song and many more have been made that I also like, this one has always stuck with me and been my favorite. I love this song because it talks about no matter where he goes in life he will always be carrying his wife’s love with him. It means alot to me because I have went on many trips without my parents for long periods of time, and as long as I got George’s CD to sing that song I know I will make it back to see them and that I know they are thinking of me too. One summer when I was twelve years old I went to Idaho to stay on a Ranch for a couple of weeks with a family I have never met before to help with a cattle drive. We moved two hundred head of cattle ten miles in one day, and I had the time of my life doing one of the many things I love to do. Through the time I was their I began to get home sick and miss my parents until one night I got a call from them letting me know they were thinking of me and hoped I was having a great time. They told me not to worry about being away from home that I would miss out on the great adventure I was on if I was worrying about coming back home. I took their advice and tried to catch some sleep when I still couldn’t get it off my mind. So I reached for my CD player and started playing George Strait. The last song I listened to was “Carrying Your Love With Me”, and no longer than by the time the song was over I had recovered from my home sickness and couldn’t wait to wake up the next morning and proceed with the wonderful experience it came out to be. This is just one of the many ways country music has helped me through hard times, or just made me happy with the life I live. So if you havn’t ever really liked country music, or just refused to listen to it because you think it’s too honky tonk, turn your radio on to your local country station and listen to it for a while looking at it in my point of view and I promise it can make a difference in your life.
