Racism still exists

I believe that we are living in a time where we will always be prejudged but not for the content of our character but rather for the color of our skin. And why because racism still exist. Racism is simply people think that they are more than other people because of the color of their skin. And this kind of racism I can say I truly live and are subjected to every other day. Whether it is inherited, learned, or even chosen, racism still exist.

Racism began decades ago. It is linked from the past of history shame of slavery to modern day politics. From getting a job, eating at restaurants, to shopping in stores, even to picking a President racism still exist. We are judged as if we all are the same. Black is already a depressing color. And who wants to be related to by that. And although people like Dr. King have fought hard to help make the world abetter place racism still exist.

Racism exist all around the world and I live it everyday. There is a restaurant that is located in Rosssville Tennessee called The Café. They have home cooked food, with an hour long waiting list and standing room only and call-ins are welcome to. But what’s so racist about that the blacks are in the back cooking, cleaning and busting tables. Whites are out front serving the all white customers and the all the blacks are coming in to pick up their orders that they called in. It reminds me of the time in history when blacks weren’t allowed to eat in the same restaurants as whites. But because racism is something that has always been in existence it is not only become the way people use their hearts but it is also becoming a way of the world. We get a one whole month out of twelve to acknowledge the great accomplishments of blacks that have paved the way for African American people today. Racism is also becoming a problem for people when they decided to pick their baby name.

This year along I have had several friends that have had babies and when choosing their baby name they say they have to give their baby a white name so they wont have a problem getting a job. Ok, race is apart of the application itself.

I think that people are even going to go so far as to use their racist ways when they decide to vote for the president. People are not going to vote for the right person for the job because a lot of people do not want to be lead by a black person. Racism is deeply rooted in history and because history repeats itself I believe that Blacks will never be equal in America. Nonetheless, Black is just a state of being and because I am so black I’m not going to allow that to define me, however I am going to let it Refine me.
