Imitation Love
I believe that true love exists. I believe that there is such thing as “meant to be”. But I also believe in Imitation Love. Potential lovers beware do not fall for a cheap imitation like I did before.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not here to bash love I happen to be a very happy customer of love. But I have also been a victim of a cheap imitation, an imitation just as bad as imitation crab meat. Of course I speak of my dear ex girlfriend who I once adored, and yes even thought I loved. I now know that what I had was just an imitation. What we had at first seemed perfect, but in the end she was not what she had once appeared to be. She was bossy, and controlling, she had to be the center of my world, all day everyday. I wasn’t even allowed to have female friends, not to mention that she claimed to love me yet every time I came home from school I had to hear about some boy she was spotted with. When you get to the point where you feel like you have nothing, and they have everything including a chunk of your heart, and all they do is step on it then its time to leave. And that’s what I did. It was this point I found myself latching on to any girl who would show me affection. I became desperate to find love.
After months and countless girlfriends I received the one piece of advice that I dearly needed. My sister, who I knew had fallen for the same imitation that I had for told me “Love cannot be found it has to find you, if you search too hard, it will pass right by you. You just need to work on you and love will come on its own”.
I reluctantly took my sisters advice and just let go. I quit looking and that’s when it happened. The girl who was to bring true love to me showed up; and the funny thing about it is that she had been there the whole time. From that point on I have been happy every since. I advise anybody to find their real thing, and avoid imitations.
