My Belief

I believe that having a relationship with God is one of the most important things to do in your life. It’s not going to just appear in your life, you do have to look.

My dad has been trying to tell me over the years that the most important thing in life is to be a good Christian, but I was always just saying “Yeah, yeah.” But this past year I have realized that he was right.

When I was fifteen, three weeks away from getting my license, I was riding in my friends truck and we were in an accident, and the truck rolled three times, and we landed into on-coming traffic and got hit by a car going fifty-five. The firemen told us that there was no way that we should have even survived the accident, and we weren’t even hurt, we walked away. It was later that night that I was thinking about what the firemen said, and I realized that we were just in a miracle, and that God obviously has plans for our life.

Now I am sixteen years old and I attend both church and youth group every Sunday. I have made tons of friends there, and they are also most of the people that I hang out with at school. My biggest goal right now is to get other teenagers involved in our youth group. I have gotten my girlfriend involved, and also my friend that was in the car wreck with me.

Sometimes when I pick doing something at church over being with my friends they will laugh at me like I’m joking or something, but they just haven’t realized how important God is yet, and it just takes time, longer for some than others. I have tried to get them to get more involved but I wouldn’t ever force that upon somebody because it could drive them away.

So once again I believe having a relationship with God is the most important thing to me in life, but it’s not like that to everyone, so I would never force someone to believe.
