The Importance of Change

As time roles on by in our daily lives, a lot changes around us. Evolution itself is a sign of change over billions of years. Change is a necessity in our lives for us to be able to expand our knowledge and live to our fullest potential, this I believe.

Change is not always bad. Sometimes we will need change in order to live better and more productively. As I mentioned earlier, evolution is an indication of the way that life was able to change for the better and how life learned how to adapt to be able to live in all environments. Everything in life will go through some sort of change. We all are accustomed to it; however, sometimes it may be harder than others.

Moving can be one of the toughest moments in someone’s life, it was for me. I have moved four times in my life so I am now accustomed to it. When I moved for the first time in my life, it was hard at first. My family moved into a bigger house in a nicer town that was about forty-five minutes away from my old house. The distance was not that far but it is always hard to move into a new area when you don’t know anybody. About one week later, though, I had already made a new friend. This friend is one of my best friends still today and we always enjoy talking about memories from our childhood even though I have moved away since then. Moving can be a difficult change to deal with, but I know that I have prospered from changes like that which have helped me live a better life.

There is another subject that is hard for every single person, no matter who you are: the loss of a family member. When my grandmother died, I was distraught. I have never met my grandfathers as they both died before I was born. The loss of my grandmother was very difficult. Now that I am older, I have come to realize that losing her was a part of life. Also, losing her is like the first step in learning to grow up, to be responsible, and preparing you to live on your own as an adult. This is a natural way of live. We all must go through it. I look at it as one of life’s ways of changing which strengthen us physically but mostly mentally.

Changes in life are always going to occur whether they are moving away from friends or losing a family member. We all have our own changes in our own lives and we must deal with them and learn to move on. We must always keep in mind, though, that these changes are a necessity in our lives for us to be able to expand our knowledge and to develop to our fullest potential.
