This I Believe
Many people might have heard the question “Are you a leader or a follower?” I like to live my life by this question. If someone asked me that question I would answer a leader. I believe in not following the crowd and what they are doing but to do my own thing. For example, I choose not to cuss while many people do. Also I like to dress in my own trend of clothes instead of following how other girls dress. I’d say that I am stylish but different in a good way. I believe that another way I am a leader is not by looks or the way I talk but the way I act. I make good choices everyday and I try to be a good leader not only for my friends but for other students in my classes. I enjoy being a role model and a leader for my friends. People look up to me for advice or just to comfort them when they are down. There are many ways that I apply being a leader in my life. For example, this fall I will be one of the section leaders in the trombone section for marching band. Section leaders help the underclassmen learn how to march and work on music. It is a very important role in the band to help things run well. I’m also hoping that I can be one of the crew leaders in the tech crew for theater since I will be a junior. Crew leaders are people to go to if someone has a question if the technical director is busy helping someone else and they help get each project started. They also stay for extra time to get work done and to plan things. By being a leader in band and teach crew, I can help others and be a good role model not only for the underclassmen, but also the upper classmen and the teachers. I love living by “Are you a leader or a follower” because I can stand out and be someone different than the rest of the crowd and I can be a great role model for other people.
