Freedom is everything
I believe that freedom is being free like a bird. Every body is free even if society locked down everyone still has the freedom of escaping. In society freedom can mean many different things for instance people who go jail and get out consider them selves free. Some people view it as the competition of a job or project they’re free from it. To me freedom means just being your self. Going though the day not knowing what’s going to happen next is freedom.
Society may have laws and rules but we’re as free as we choose to be. Freedom is one of the most important things I can have. Freedom is better than money but that just may be me because as I look back at my ancestors who were slaves, that’s all they dreamed of. Then when they got it freedom was the best thing that happend to them, and I know if it wasn’t for them getting free then I wouldn’t be here right now. So that’s why I choose freedom over everything.
There was one time when I felt like I wasn’t free and that was when I stayed at my aunt’s house. Staying at her house, I actually felt like a slave. She had me doing stuff that wasn’t necessary like scrubbing her floors, cleaning her bathrooms, and even cooking. I had no freedom to do anything I couldn’t go outside, I couldn’t get on the computer, my aunt wouldn’t even let me play my video game I brought. It was total HELL and the bad part is I was there for a whole week. The movie Cinderella was my life exactly. I compare it to that because of the way their son acted towards me. He treated me like I was a nobody; even though we were the same age, he acted like I was a little kid. Too much is too much, though. One time I was sitting at the table eating the food I had to cook for everybody and he came up from behind me and pushes my head in the plate of food. That’s when I exploded and beat the crap out of him. Since that’s their son, of course, I got in trouble and had to stay in the basement for two days. After that I couldn’t take it anymore I called my grandmother to come get me. When I explained on the phone to her what had been happening to me, she couldn’t believe it. So she came and as soon as she walked through the door she started yelling at my aunt. From that day forward my aunt and her family were no longer on my grandmothers or my mom’s Christmas list. Even though I was locked down and couldn’t do anything I used my own freedom to call my grandmother. That’s why I say freedom is everything because that’s what saved me.
