I believe that hatred can destroy anything. All it takes is a few words or a couple rude remarks. Once the person cannot control himself anymore, destruction will follow. All that is left is sadness.
Examples of this angst transforming into rage can be found all around us. We encounter this atrocity every time we step into a school building or other public place. Although it is all around us, it is usually concealed within a container also known as the human mind. Like the Tupperware we put our leftover food inside, the mind can only hold so much hatred and anguish before it is shattered. Until it reaches that point of shattering, we people are oblivious to this silent horror.
There are many famous people who were made famous by their hatred. Adolf Hitler’s paintings were rejected. He was a failure. When he got his chance for power, he took it, and killed six million Jews. The students of the Columbine Massacre were viewed as unpopular and were constantly ridiculed. They killed thirteen people and injured twenty-four other innocent lives. While the classmates of these two teenagers did not know this every time they made fun of the boys, the classmates were fanning the flames.
Hatred on the verge of rage and destruction usually is not taken seriously until it enslaves an acquaintance. I know a person who had every right to feel hatred. He had a bad childhood and went back and forth between his parents and foster parents. After a time of being picked on, he threatened to bring a gun to his school. Although he did not follow through with his plan, any slight thing could have set off a person like him.
On the other hand, hatred is natural. As humans, we instinctively feel hatred if we like it or not. The way we control and release our anger is the important part. Instead of taking anger out on people, take it out on a pillow or something that will not cause anybody harm.
Chuck Norris, America’s hero, released his hatred in a healthy way. As a boy, Chuck was bullied and pummeled. To defend himself, he learned martial arts and has been an alpha male ever since. He is now a person who can control himself but can still vent, allowing him to be a very respected person in society. If he wanted to, Chuck could have been a nuisance to the rest of the world and become a serial killer. Instead, he was determined to become an important part of this world. It is too bad that we all cannot be as smart as Chuck.
Because Chuck Norris overcame his hatred and turned it into a positive thing, he proves that there is hope for the human race. If one tries hard enough, he can control one of the most unruly emotions in this world. Although this feat is difficult to accomplish, the reward is worth the effort.
