I Believe in doing everything right the first time
I believe in doing everything right the first time. When I do this, I feel better about myself because it helps me gain respect from other people. I will now tell you a story of when I was of younger age that helped me to believe this.
As I finished up the job that my dad had assigned me, I began to rush through the work. I knew that the van would have some spots that were still dirty, but I had one thing in mind and that was to go play. I went over the wheels, not pressing hard in the smaller areas with my sponge. I also decided that all of a sudden, bugs on the front of the van didn’t matter anymore.
The next day, the van looked horrible and my dad told me that it looked better before I had washed it. He told me that I shouldn’t do anything unless I was going to do it right the first time and I now understand it fully. Of course, he made me wash it again and as I washed the van again, I thought about all the things I could have been doing with the time. I thought, if only I had taken a few more minutes and done the job right the first time.
This is a smaller and less important illustration, but my belief can apply to anyone young, or of older age. This can apply to a person going to school or getting a job also. People in the business world don’t want an employee who is undependable to do everything right the first time. They won’t hire people who don’t do their job correctly and still want to be paid. These people won’t get a job if they want to be lazy and not do the job right.
Also, people may think and look at any individual as lazy and irresponsible. People feeling this way, can and will hurt that person’s reputation. Many people won’t want to be around a person that is like this. When I do a job correctly, I feel better about myself because I know that no one had to tell me that I did something wrong. I believe the world would be a very good place if everyone did everything right the first time.
