Having Faith and Trusting in God Works
I have several beliefs while there is one which was truly life changing. I was not raised in a religious household. My parents used references from the Bible although we rarely studied the Bible or went to church. Our values and moral were similar to Christian doctrine. I would pray every night with my mother. I always believed in something, sometimes God, other times that there was a higher being.
Over the years, I have been on the fence about different views and beliefs. I visited various churches, read the Bible on my own, but was never really grounded. Around my mid-twenties I met a lady named Christine, whom I call my angel. She was extremely patient and caring, truly a genuine person. I visited her church not long after we met; I began one on one-bible study sessions. She was highly inspirational in my growth process, I thank God for her. This encounter helped me to have better understanding of the scriptures. Also, this taught me how to assess myself in accordance with the Bible and to build a more intense relationship with God. It was and still is a process, but it is truly worth it. I learned how to direct my faith in God and have a more in depth meaningful relationship with him.
Various situations have occurred which has tested my faith and my trust in God. Faith has made my heart glad and brought me miraculous results. An example is when I stepped into a situation totally on faith. I felt God encouraging me to trust him and listen. I purchased a property without an agent. First, I started out with minimal information about the real estate process. Second, God placed mounds of people in my path providing steps for me of how to attain this house in a legal and secure manner. There after, I learned more than any school could have taught me in this eight-month process. I was feeling overwhelmed with everything; yet each day I prayed and read one scripture that gave me strength and kept me focused; that scripture was Joshua 1:6-9. My faith in God was surreal I was surprised at myself. I realized that God gave me a vision for me only because there were many people who were discouraging such a challenge. This experience is one of the many reason’s why I believe having faith and trusting in God works.
