Global Warming
Throughout the last 20 years of the world we have had a great deal of catastrophic events happen. All of these events have had something to do with global warming so with that said, I believe in global warming because of the danger it puts in front of us. And if the world does not react then the world is going to have a meltdown.
Global warming is affecting the temperature in the arctic, causing a lot of it to melt. This water melting in the arctic has raised the sea levels around the whole world, and by 2030 the sea level will be 20 feet higher than it is now. With that being said, ¾ of the population around the world lives within 60 miles of the coast. This will cause people to the inner part of the country increasing the country’s population density.
With the water levels rising and people fleeing to the inner part of the country, this will cause fear and tension within the people. Because the water levels will rise, the water will take up land, food, resources… what a country needs to survive with. When all these things are going to be taken up, countries will have to search elsewhere for their necessities. The governments will not know what to do, and the only option they will have is to go to war with other countries, and this will most likely cause another world war.
We as human beings on this earth have a moral duty to keep the world from a global meltdown. People should try to do everything within their efforts to keep the planet a healthy place for the human race. We could begin by passing laws that mandate recycling and tax breaks for those who drive hybrid vehicles, encouraging other persons to buy hybrids so that we benefit for the environment.
If governments would take the time and look in depth at the seriousness of global warming, they would realize the pounding that the earth takes from the gas emissions that human beings create. People need to find an alternative energy source because of how petroleum hurts the world.
