Every August I believe that days turn to hours, hours turn to minutes, and minutes turn to seconds counting down to what some people would call the most important day of the year, the opening Saturday of college football. Fans of college teams all over the nation flock to their team’s side for another unforgettable season of college football. Instilled in the deepest values and traditions of my family, I believe in college football, but most importantly I believe in Alabama football.
Bryant-Denny Stadium is where the magic takes place for my team. Passionate yelling and chanting for our team sends chills all over my body as the Tide rolls. Some say they’ve lost hope after our six-win, six-loss season under outstanding new coach Nick Saban. Alabama has already been announced as having the number seven ranked recruiting class for 2008. I do believe Nick Saban will put the team in crimson and white back on top again. The Crimson Tide is famous for their victories in twelve national championship games and recognized by thousands for their fans love of houndstooth apparel.
Paul “Bear” Bryant is viewed as an untouchable image in the minds of Alabama fans everywhere. Some say that when a cool August wind blows across the campus of the University of Alabama it is the “Bear” giving a breath of hope, pride, and belief back to the school he loved so much. I am obviously not old enough to remember the “Bear” walking the Alabama sidelines, but I still believe in him and what he did for the Tide. They have had ups and downs in head coaches since the infamous Gene Stallings retired from coaching, but I along with thousands of other fans have continued to attend every home game cheering on my team.
I believe Alabama will have another winning season and pocket another national championship making lucky number 13. I believe in the Crimson Tide and Coach Nick Saban as they roll in the tradition of the University of Alabama. I believe that the University of Alabama has the greatest tradition in all of college football. I believe that one day Alabama will be placed atop college football once again in greatness. I believe that I am truly blessed to be a member of the greatest nation in the world, the Crimson Nation. Roll Tide! Go Bama! I believe!
