Rough draft this I believe
Walt Disney
When you believe in something, believe in it all the way.
Believe means to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something; although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so. When I believe in something, I set my heart on it and follow through.
I believe that loyalty is important in a great friendship. I grew up with only a few friends. I had one named Dane Donnegan. He was my main man, my best friend and he would do anything for me. Or so I thought? He and I would cover each other on any issue, whether it is girls, school or getting out of trouble. However, there was a group that he looked up to more than me and wanted to be apart of more than anything in Elementary School. They were popular, hung out with all the girls that he liked and got whatever they wanted. These stuck up brats just wanted people like Dane to do things for them, in return, Dane could hang out with them. I felt really bad for him, because through the process of it all, he started to get in more and more trouble at school. He would go to the principal’s every week, for some stupid stunt the group would have him pull. We started to distance from eacother, but still talked on occasion. Then, he was finally accepted by this group of kids and everything went smoothly for a while.
I was on the playground one day and what do you know, the group of kids walks up and Dane is with them. Now I didn’t know it at the time, but Dane was challenged to call me some name like a stupid head. You know how second graders are. The moment went by fast and as soon as he said it, some part of me broke away. He had been loyal to me until something to gain was involved, and then he turned his back.
To this day, every time one of my friends is getting picked on I stand up for him, because I remember the affect Dane had on me. I don’t want any of my friends to experience the same thing. I believe this experience has made me one of the most loyal friends you’ll ever meet.
