I believe in childhood because it is in childhood that you choose who you will be in the future. For me I was constantly told what I was to do by my parents when I was a child I was always told to do my best and that’s what I did and what I’ve always done. That is what has gotten me here today because of how I was raised I have tried my best to do well and I will always try my best in everything I do. I have always tried to honor what my parents said, and that’s what has kept me on the right path because I honor what they said since I was little. When I was younger they told me that I had to go to college and I know that I will reach that goal because I have the determination that I have had since I was a child. It is in my childhood that I learned about determination, respect, honor, I was taught those values as a child and I try to uphold those values every day. When we are children it is a crucial time in which we are shaped into who we will be in our future. I have always been the same because my parents, teachers, and friends have guided me. All of these people that guided me and taught me about values, this is what made me, me and I will never change because it is the way that I grew up and it is the way I was taught to be. Unfortunately many kids do not have a good childhood and are beaten by parents and it is a horror that many kids face everyday. Some of these kids listen to the parent’s abusive words and come to school and don’t try. I know because I have had friends like this and they just gave up. They weren’t taught values in there childhood they were abused instead. When they got to school they didn’t pay attention and the teacher got mad at them so they decide not to come to school any more. So they stay out o the streets and go to juvenile hall because there parents just don’t treat them how they should be treated and they just didn’t care. This is the truth and I have seen a friend go through it, and I just think how this might have been avoided if the parents would have treated them better in their youth. For this reason I know that childhood is very important because it is what shapes and forms who we will be.
