It all started when I was in 1st grade at Lincoln Elementary School. My family was trying to move out of our house but we couldn’t find one to buy. So we decided to build a house. Our old house was already for sale at this time so my family and I lived in my great-grandmothers basement.
Since we moved to a different house, I had to move to a new school. Luckily for me, my cousin had already been going to this school, so I had someone to talk to. He introduced me to his friend and he also told me not to talk to this one kid because they didn’t like him. For a while I was following what they had said and not talking to him. But then eventually I started talking to him and getting to know him better. As the years went on I talked to him more and more.
Today, he is one of my best friends. I talk to him and do more things with him more than I do with my cousin or his friend. Yes, we have been in many fights over the years, but it seems like we can’t stay mad at each other for very long at all.
I have also gotten into fights with my friends because of something that they did to one of my other friends. But I never had a problem with then ever before. I never listened to their side of the story before I made my own judgment about what had happened.
What I believe is that you should not judge anyone based on the words and thoughts of others. What they say may not be what you think about them yourself.
