A Voice for the Voiceless.
Imagine standing in a dark room. You have a choice whether you live or die, but in reality the choice is not yours. The person who is making the choice for you doesn’t know your name. Doesn’t know what color your eyes are. Doesn’t know how smart you are, but most importantly doesn’t know you! Now imagine that it is your own flesh and blood. Imagine that it was your mother. An Estimated 43% of all women by the time they are 45 years old will have at least one abortion.
I believe that every life has meaning and value. Everyone has a purpose in life. We must respect and realize the dignity of each person. No matter what age, sex, race, or religion someone is, we must realize that we all have value and deserve respect.
As a member of the Catholic Church, I believe that you shall not kill. Abortion kills millions of unborn babies every day and it needs to stop. Murder is wrong and the government needs to do something about it. Government funds for abortion clinics should be cut and used for more humane purposes. I believe that life starts at conception. Life, even if not fully developed, is still a life and we must protect it.
I believe that abortion should be illegal. Giving women the ability to choose whether or not to go forward with an abortion violates the rights of the unborn baby. Everyone has the right to life and we must protect those who cannot protect themselves.
Rape and incest are horrible crimes that should not go unpunished, however I do believe that the victims should consider some other alternatives or options and keep the baby. So many couples would do anything to be able to have the opportunity to conceive their own children. Many are seeking to adopt or become foster parents, so to me, it is almost selfish to not let the child live. You never know what that child will be capable of or what he or she could accomplish. So to take the life of that child is unfair and wrong.
I believe that abortion is an unsafe practice and it should be stopped. Abortions not only kill innocent children but it may also put the mother at risk. Women who go through the abortion process usually regret it later and develop a sense of guilt. For some the guilt never really goes away and may lead the mother to depression.
Finally, I believe that we should be the voice for the voiceless. We should protect the rights of those who cannot help themselves. Think of all the lives that could be saved if we all just put our own needs aside and focus on the needs of others. Remember, every living thing deserves respect and we should do everything we can to make sure it stays that way in the world.
