I believe with a little hard work anything is possible. Growing up my mother was the oldest of five, living in a two bedroom house. My mother was even told in high school that she was not expected to go to college, instead the teachers encouraged her to take home economics classes so she could marry and become a wonderful wife. But my mother had bigger dreams for herself, so she and my grandfather marched into the principles office and demanded that my mother be placed into classes that would challenge her and put her on the right track to college. My mother graduated high school early and at the top of her class. She struggled to go to college while raising a daughter but now at the age of forty-nine she will be graduating from the Doctoral Program from the University of Houston, while working full time. My mother has taught me that no matter what people expect of you, you should live out your own dreams, and with a little hard work anything is possible.
