I believe in Laughter
I believe in laughter, I believe it brings hope; it is that light at the end of the tunnel. I believe in laughing until your eyes are tearing and your stomach is aching. It is beautiful the sound of children giggling or two best friends sharing a joke. Even through troubling times in life, it is the laughter that will help you survive through it.
Laughter is contagious, it is genuine, and it can make a bad situation better. I have had times in my life where I have cried until it felt like my eyes were going to pop right out of my head. Then all I could do was laugh, that laughter is what I look forward to. It gets me through the day and helps me to survive.
To find that person in life that can put a smile on my face and make me laugh when I am down. That spirit of laughter when they walk in the room. I lost my best friend this past December. He was that one person who could always put a smile on my face. No matter how bad my day was he could always get me to laugh. The funny thing about it, he was the one who was sick and dying. However, that never stopped him from laughing. He always had a smile on his face. It could light up a room when he walked in. When he passed away I thought about how much I was going to miss him and who would make me laugh like that again. Our conversations on the phone were something I looked forward to everyday. Then just a few days ago I was alone in my car and I just started cracking up laughing about something he once told me. I realized at that moment that even though he was gone, he could still get me to laugh.
This is how I will get through the day, and this is why I believe in laughter. I will look forward to the happy times and the sad times, because in the end, I know I will find laughter and through that laughter I have hope. This I believe.
