Characters
I’m A 10TH grader at Oak Hills High School and this I believe. The most important asset in life to me is the characteristics of people. The characters of the people in my every day life are so amazingly different that I think that is how I pick most of my friends, but some of them just pick me.
Every day I hear about others judging the world on how they first percept the world to be and that is nasty or cruel like Thomas Hobbes’ State of Nature. Me, I think that the world was corrupted by those whom were nasty and brutish. I think the way the world is different is amazing and hope that never will there be a day where the world is exactly the same every where. If the world were to be the same then it would boring and dull the same thing would happen every day and every thing would be predictable. If those who want the world to change were to realize that the way they would change the world to would be reflecting their own character and how they run their daily lives. So, in fact they would change the would how they act and run their lives and eventually those people would realize that it is not he way the world should be.
My own character is not perfect and I would have it no other way, I love the way I am. My personality is kind, mostly generous, and extremely energetic. I’m sure that there would be more that my friends and family would have some things to add to that, but that’s all I’ve got. In life I might not be the greatest looking person, but I think that it doesn’t matter what people look like. I think that people are too shallow and what matters most is the character and personality of the person that counts. Although I do think that it does matter a little how people look, but only in the eyes of the beholder.
Lets see, an event that shows that character is important in a person began earlier this year. Well back in August I made a decision to show some of my best characteristics, sincerity and kindness, to a student whom needed it the most. This student is in my English class and well at first he thought I was just like any other student he had meet in school, a jerk, but then he realized I wasn’t and not every one was a jerk. So, we started talking every day in class and pretty soon he noticed himself starting to like me as more than a friend and him being an honest person told me this. But when he told me he said, that he didn’t like me because of the way I look instead it was that I treated him like a person with feelings and as a human being. He also told me that he was surprised about the way I treated him and that no one has every treated him with such kindness and generosity.
This I believe that the thing that matters most to me in life are the characters of people. Characters define people and what type of a person they are. Some more friendly than others and others the nicest people you’ll ever meet. There are those who start the every so contagious smile chain, which touches the people whom needed it the most. And I’m almost always one of them, whom starts the chain.
