No Matter How Hard The Struggle Is, You Have To Keep Going

Every day we hear about how people who have cancer keep fighting to live and how they don’t give up. But then we always hear on the news about how people always give up their lives to drugs, violence, crimes, and spending their whole life in jail.

I choose not to believe in this way of life. I believe that even if your life is hard and everyday you struggle you just have to keep going. If you give up, what was the use of everything you learned in the past? Why would you put so much effort into school and learning and then put it to waste?

About a year ago I was diagnosed with a rotator cup injury in both of my shoulders. My physical therapist said that I was never going to be able to swim again. I cried for days. Swimming is my life; I love every moment of it. So what I did was go to physical therapy three times a week for two hours. I would put so much effort into it. I wanted to get better, I needed to. After going to physical therapy for five months my doctor said I could swim again. That I proved her wrong, that a miracle had happened.

Every day Monday thru Thursday I wake up at 4:50 in the morning. I swim for two hours and then go to school. Yeah it’s hard to get up that early but it’s worth it. Practices may kick my butt, it may make me tired during school but I have to keep going. I always think about what if I couldn’t swim? What would happen then? I didn’t give up last year and I never will. Last year when I came back I made varsity swimming; I got my best time in my best stroke. Every day I’m thankful that I am able to swim again. I never gave up on my focus in life.

My main point is that even when times were hard for me, I kept going. But not everyone is lucky. Kids everyday give up, they throw their lives away. It may be because they didn’t have a good childhood, their parents are divorced, and they got caught up in the wrong thing. They do things that get them in trouble, or they end up spending their teenage or adulthood in jail. They don’t have the chance to experience being a mother or father. You should never give up on your focus in life, even when times get hard. You should realize that there can always be a better tomorrow.

Nevertheless, don’t give up. Never ever give up, even how hard the situation is. You just have to keep going and fight through the struggle.
