Karma is a common believed concept in the Hinduism and Buddhism religion. When you perform something kind for someone and shortly after something equal or better happens to you, that’s called good karma. I am a strong believer in good karma because I pass it onto others and I notice when it comes back to me, and the more you believe, the more it will happen. There are many times in my life where I have experienced good karma, whether I give it or receive it.
There are plenty of times where I have noticed something rewarding given to me by the universe. One that sticks to my memory the most is one night at work, a woman came in looking for a gift for her mother who was in the hospital. She was recently divorced with two kids and she seemed pretty young. I felt her grief sinking into my mind and was wishing there was something I can do. When it was her time to check out I gave her my store discount of 45% off. She did not know until I read off how much she saved and why she saved it. Her eyes began to water and she asked for a hug. My heart felt warm and I knew had done a beautiful thing.
Not much later that night it had come back around to me. A man came in shopping looking for movies for his children. I had plenty of knowledge in the children’s movie section and directed him to the Odyssey DVDs. I told him how much my cousins enjoy them and how they are child friendly. He had ended up buying 3 of them. He was all set to check out when he told me he picked out a movie for my cousins. I knew it was a gift of good karma from the woman earlier because my heart got warm again. Now that man will have good news tonight because karma is going to reward him for his small act of kindness. The moral of that story is to put in effort to a neighbor and others will put effort in you.
It may seem difficult to believe in something that sounds like a myth. Truthfully the more you notice it the more you believe in it. When you believe in it you will pass it on and the more you will notice karma coming back to you. Even if you don’t believe, you will still do nice things and not even know that karma is rewarding you with the good news you next receive. Most people may even believe in bad karma so that they have something the blame their troubles on. Why not turn your acts around and hand out kindness just because it’s a rewarding feeling to your self-esteem.
Next time you have a chance to give someone your time, or pay for a meal, remember what karma is and look for it. There are so many ways to give and receive generosity. When you receive karma don’t forget it because when that lady holds the door open for you, you know where it came from. The kindness of their heart and the universe giving you what you deserve. Believe in good karma because the more you believe the more it will happen.
