I know God and magic and mythical creatures aren’t exactly simpatico but I’m not talking about vampires, werewolves, and dark magic. I’m talking about fairies, mermaids, unicorns, pegasi, alicorns (a horse with a horn and wings), and the magic of friendship, true love (now when I say true love I don’t exactly mean the whole prince and princess thing I mean like in frozen when they say “an act of true love will thaw a frozen heart”). Our parents tell or rather read us these fairy tales that we grew up loving like Cinderella, Rapunzel, Snow White, and Little Red Riding Hood and so many more, but as we start to enter double digits they start to tell us that there are no happy endings in life that those stories are just that, stories, not real they never actually happened anywhere except in our imaginations, tearing away a part of what makes us who we are. They are a part of me and have been since my infancy and will always be even after my death.
It’s these stories we build our life around and form our life expectations on as little kids. You know how our parents try to shield us from the outside world as long as possible because they know we will eventually become exposed to the outside world. Well, telling us that the stories aren’t real and that happy endings don’t exist is not helping them it’s just speeding our exposure to the outside world up. It’s in these stories that we find a sense of comfort when things are just falling apart. We even find answers to some of our problems in these very stories.
I’m sure you’ve heard this before “you still believe in that stuff you’re so immature” or something along those lines. You’ve heard of bronies and pegasisters (I’m one myself) the adult and teen fans of My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic. I noticed that the bronies, and those that believe in fairy tales and the Lord above, have less issues in their relationships and are more mature than those who don’t. I’ve heard people say “you watch my little pony that show is for little kids”, but about 95% of people who watch the shows are 12 and older the 5% is like 7 and under. Little kids watch the show only because it has talking animals, bright moving colors, and singing otherwise they would not watch it.
Fairy tales and My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic might seem like little kid stuff but if you look really closely at them you will see that they are more relatable to teens and adults than for little kids, because teens and adults understand things more clearly and in depth than children do. So next time you’re in a bind and don’t know what to do think about each of the different fairy tales and what happens in them and read the one(s) that are the closest to what you’re going through My little pony is the same way look close they will surprise you in ways you never imagined. Just because you’re getting older on the outside doesn’t mean you’re getting older on the inside never let go of the fairy tales you adore. We all have a fairytale in side us we just don’t what is yet. all of this is something i believe with all my heart along side my belief in GOD This I believe.
