Life is short. That is why everyone should make the most of it. Ask yourself a simple question; Where would you be right now without your friends? People don’t think about things like that, but if you think hard about it then I can guarantee that everyone depends on at least one friend in their life without even knowing it, and I can thankfully say that I learned how important friends are after this one conflict I had with my best friend.
A hot day in early August, is a day I will never forget. I was cutting grass, minding my own business until my best friend starts to argue with me over the phone. I get mad at him about some things, and I said some things that I shouldn’t have said. He told me that this was the last straw, and after tonight, I did not have to worry about him anymore. I began to worry after that. Things happened before this fight too. He was going through serious depression again, but he didn’t tell me like he usually does. Was he really thinking about this? I called one of my friends to help me out. We began to call him. No answer. Is this really happening right now? He said that he was okay and but I knew he was not okay. I have already lost one friend last year, and I’m not losing another one. I asked him where he was but he would not tell me. I told him to go to our secret spot out on our hunting land and he said he would. For thirty minutes we sat there in silence, not knowing if he would show up or not. Finally he shows up and I followed him deeper into the land. When we got to an opening, my buddy and I hop out the truck and rush over to him. He gets out of the truck and begins to cry. We talked to him about everything for two hours and he began to feel better. It was a hard time for him, but to be honest, he was lucky that he had close friends to be there for him.
You find out who your real friends are. A friend will text you and hangout and have fun, but you don’t really know them. A best friend will take the shirt off his back for his brother if he needs to. That day was one of the worst pains I have ever had to go through, but everything turned out to be alright. I believe that best friends are one of the most important things in a person’s life. A best friend will always be there for you know matter how bad the situation is. I was there for my friend, but next time I may be in a situation where I need someone it be with, and I am gracious enough to say that I have a friend like that in my life.
