I believe in the Sith Code.
Star Wars is among the many things that I have always loved. The force has always seemed a more relatable “god force” to me as well. Naturally I was drawn to the merchandise and games of all sorts. One game in particular is where I learned of the Sith code. My fascination with anything star wars extended to everything: books, games, toys, even some of my clothing has Yoda on it! When I found a way of thinking that went along with my fascination and my natural inclination I was sold immediately.
“Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me,” according to the Jedi heretic Sorzus Syn.
Basically the code says that emotion will give you the power you need to do anything. The concept was not hard for me to grasp. Let your emotions fuel you and you will achieve your goals. I closed the game and sat there for a minute as my mind was blown by the reality of the statement. I felt like my eyes had been allowed to see the way I had been missing for all my life. Since that day I have had success in letting my emotions fuel what I do and how I think. In sports I used emotion to help push through the tiredness of running long distances and in track when I started to fall behind my, we will call it passion, helped me get back ahead.
Many people assume that having emotions makes one weak. Emotions really do the opposite. They give us strength, drive, and a sense of purpose. Emotion is what makes us human and sets us apart from all other living things. It is our emotions and our ways of expression that give us power and personality. The jokes have been made out of the offer made by the Dark Lords in the movies and books “Come to the Dark Side! We have cookies.” The hidden truth is that following the “Dark Path” or the Sith Code means using your emotions to your benefit, and it is so sweet to live feeling passion.
